Man wanted for convenience store shooting & murder, arrested

A man who was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing another man at a convenience store parking lot has been arrested.

Corpus Christi police have confirmed Derek Parra surrendered to the U.S. Marshalls in Louisiana.

The warrant was issued after a murder on Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the 4700 block of Ayers Street.

Warrant issued for murder suspect

Police say the victim, 27-year-old Joe Andrew Trevino of Austin, had been involved in an argument with Parra and was about to drive away when he was shot in the head.

Parra is currently in the extradition process to Corpus Christi.
