CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Happy Hump Day!

Brrrr! It's down right chilly this morning across much of the Coastal Bend, except the immediate coastal communities. The warm Gulf of Mexico water is insulating those communities and keeping them warmer this morning. Radiational cooling is responsible for the cold temps inland. Don't worry, we'll be warm this afternoon as high near 80ºF.

This afternoon, winds will shift from the northeast to an onshore direction. East-northeast winds will gradually increase our humidity and provide moisture ahead of our next cold front. The rain will begin late Thursday night and pick up into the first half of Friday. The front looks to pass through the region around mid-day Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will clear up throughout the early afternoon and make for a cooler Friday evening.

This weekend is looking great! Cooler mornings and pleasant afternoons will last into the beginning of next week. Go ahead and make those Halloween plans without fear.

Have great day!
