Tropical Storm Hanna to strengthen before making landfall

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — All of the Coastal Bend is under a tropical storm warning for tropical storm winds within 24 hours.

Tropical Storm Hanna is moving toward the Texas coast and will strengthen before making landfall late in the day Saturday.

At this time, it is forecast to make landfall just south of Corpus Christi.

The storm will bring winds of 45-65 mph and rainfall of 3-6 inches with locally higher amounts. Winds will increase Friday night and become strong during the day Saturday.

Rain will increase from Friday evening through Saturday with heavy rain likely.

Moisture will linger through early next week and showers and t-storms will continue, decreasing by next Wednesday. Residents should prepare now for tropical storm conditions.
