CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — We are under a Tropical Storm Watch until 10 p.m. Saturday which means tropical-storm-force winds are possible.
A tropical depression is heading toward the Texas Coast and is expected to arrive early Saturday.
Conditions are favorable for further development and it's possible it could become Tropical Storm Hanna before making landfall. At this time it is forecast to come onshore to our north but will still have impacts here in the Coastal Bend.
Rain is expected to start as isolated showers and storms Friday but will become more numerous overnight Friday and into Saturday and continue through Sunday due to lingering moisture with the system.
Heavy rainfall is expected with rainfall totals from 2-4 inches, highest in our northern counties.
We'll also have a higher rip current risk and higher tides this weekend. For today and Friday, it will be very hot and humid with high temperatures at 97 today and 94 Friday and the heat index peaking at 110.
