Temperatures and tropics continue to heat up

and last updated

A northerly flow aloft will continue to bring above-normal temperatures, generally dry conditions, and only light- to moderate winds through the weekend.

Our entire rain forecast next week depends on the path and intensity of T.D. No. 14.

Right now it appears we will be on the west, or dry, side of the system as it moves toward the Louisiana/Texas coast by early next week, and it is not a direct threat to this area at all.

Tonight, expect fair skies, quiet, and seasonal, with a low of 75.

Friday, except for a stray shower, it will be sunny and baking hot with a high of 96 and a heat index between 105 and 110.

Friday night will be warm and sticky, with mostly clear skies and a low of 76.

Saturday, we will have hazy sunshine, and scorching heat with a high of 95.
