Early season cold front easing into South Texas

Posted
and last updated

A cold front that produced temperatures in the 40's in North Texas on Wednesday will arrive in the Coastal Bend overnight and Thursday, bringing more rain to the area.

Unfortunately, the front has no upper-level support, so it really won't cool off the area that much because of the rain bringing down cool air aloft.

We dry out and heat up again on Friday and over the weekend.

Tonight, expect scattered showers and thundershowers to redevelop near the coast with a low of 75 under cloudy skies.

Thursday, expect lots of clouds, not as hot, with numerous showers -- especially in the morning -- some with locally heavy rain working inland during the afternoon, and a high of only 88.

Thursday night, scattered showers again near the coast, a little cooler with a low of 72.

Friday we will have isolated showers, clouds mixed with some afternoon sun and warmer with light winds and a high near 90.

Saturday expect mores sun and hotter again.
