Dangerously cold temperatures headed for South Texas by early next week

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The first surge of arctic air arrived in Corpus Christi today and will be followed by a more powerful surge late Sunday. In between expect periods of light rain or drizzle and even a passing thundershower followed by a wintery mix Sunday night and Monday.

Tonight, will be breezy and colder with light rain developing and a low near 50.

Thursday breezy and much colder with light rain likely and temperatures steady or slowly falling all day from 50 into the 40's.

Thursday night expect more light rain still breezy and colder with a low of 42 and wind chills in the 30's.

Friday drizzle and cold with a high of only 48. Temperatures get even colder Sunday night through Tuesday.
