A late-season cold front, combined with abundant moisture and some upper air support, will produce some badly needed rain for the Coastal Bend.
The heaviest rain will be west of Corpus Christi, where most of us here in the city will struggle to get above a half inch of rain with a few exceptions.
Overnight, expect showers and thunderstorms with the heavier activity well west of Corpus Christi.
It will be turning much cooler, with temperatures dropping into the 50's.
Saturday will be mainly cloudy and much cooler and also breezy with scattered rain showers and a high of only 64.
Saturday night will be mostly cloudy and rather cool with a low of 58.
Sunday, less wind and not as chilly (for April) with cloudy skies giving way to some afternoon sun and a high of 75.
