There is rain and a cold front in the forecast

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Significant rain is expected before the end of this week in the Coastal Bend.

Gulf and Pacific moisture will be on the increase ahead of a moderately strong cold front arriving Thursday evening just a little before sunset.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop ahead of and along the front. Skies will be slow to clear as temperatures drop into the 50's Thursday night and Friday.

Tonight will be tranquil, warm and sticky with fair skies, patchy fog and a low of 69.

On Wednesday, expect mostly cloudy skies mixed with some sunshine, breezy by afternoon and a high of 84.

Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, warm, and stuffy with a low near 70.

Thursday will be unsettled with scattered showers developing during the afternoon, becoming numerous by evening with locally heavy rain in some spots. Rain will gradually end on Friday morning.

The high on Thursday will be 85 ahead of the front.
