CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Good morning!

This Valentine’s Day is a cold one in the Coastal Bend. Drizzly, misty conditions are joined by cold temperatures across the region. Expect highs for Sunday in the upper 30s. An upper level trough will bring the big chill to the coast tonight into Monday morning. Lows will drop to near 20 and feel much colder because of brisk north winds on the order of 15-20 mph.

Drizzle turns to rain by this evening. As temperatures drop tonight, the rain transitions to frozen precipitation. By the early hours of Monday morning, the Coastal bend will experience temperatures well below freezing with slick road conditions. After the wintry mix of precipitation tapers off, the cold Arctic chill lingers into Tuesday, but a warm is on the way by the end of the week.
