CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Mid- and upper-level high pressure continues to bring generally dry, stable conditions to the Coastal Bend and all of South Texas through early next week, but tropical development in the Caribbean is becoming very active and may bring rain to South Texas by next Wednesday.

A weak cold front will shift wind to the north for your Friday but otherwise have little impact on today's weather.

Wind becomes more easterly this evening, then southeasterly on Saturday. That will keep humidity palpable through the weekend, but upper-level conditions still do not favor rain chances. Expect highs to remain in the middle to upper 80s, with lows in the middle to upper 60s.

Meanwhile, a strong disturbance in the western Caribbean Sea has a high potential to become a tropical depression or tropical storm as early as this evening.

In fact, NOAA Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to survey the system this afternoon. The disturbance is moving northwest and will cross the Yucatan before entering the southwestern Gulf of Mexico by Sunday. Its ultimate track and intensity is uncertain but may result in midweek rain showers to the Coastal Bend.
