CORPUS CHRISTI — It was a cloudy and humid start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. We did see a few heavy showers across the region. Our daytime high here in Corpus Christi was 88 degrees with a trace of rainfall. We are looking for more widespread showers the next couple of days. A few areas could get up to 2 to 4 inches of rain through Tuesday. The heaviest rainfall will likely be right along the coast. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly cloudy skies with a few isolated showers. Expect an overnight low around 73 degrees. The forecast for Sunday calls for showers and thunderstorms likely with a daytime high only around 83 degrees. The winds will be blowing from the East at 5 to 15 miles per hour.
The showers and thunderstorms will likely stick with us through Tuesday. A little drier air will filter in for the latter half of the workweek. However, there will still be enough moisture in place for a few isolated showers to develop. We will also see a gradual warming trend with our temperatures.
