CORPUS CHRISTI — It was definitely a hot start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. We made it up to 99 degrees this afternoon. That breaks the old record of 95 degrees that was set last year. We are on the hot and dry side of the hurricane that moved inland last night along the Louisiana coast. We can expect similar weather conditions for tomorrow. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly clear skies with some patchy fog possible. Look for an overnight low around 73 degrees. Sunday we can expect mostly sunny skies with hot and breeze conditions in the afternoon. Expect and afternoon high of 96 degrees with the winds blowing out of the south at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
It will be mostly sunny and dry for much of the week ahead. Daytime high temperatures will be cooling off a bit each day. A weak cold front will roll through late on Monday. The stronger front will arrive in South Texas on Friday. This should bring us sunny and cooler weather for next weekend.
