CORPUS CHRISTI — There was still plenty of wind over South Texas this afternoon, but not quite as strong as it was yesterday. Today we topped out at 36 miles per hour officially out at Corpus Christi International Airport.

The wind, extra humidity and temperatures pushing into the lower 80s is all a result of a cold front pushing into the northern parts of the state. Currently the frontal boundary is draped from Dallas towards the Lubbock area and will continue to dive southward overnight and into early tomorrow.

For tonight, the muggy and mild weather will continue with an overnight low of 68 here in Corpus Christi.

The first half of Friday will still be warm, humid and breezy with an early afternoon high of 82. Then, around 4 to 8 p.m. the cold front will slide into South Texas. It will generally ease into the area, versus "blasting" through with strong northerly winds. With this front, winds will turn northerly but only increase around 10-20 mph.

By Saturday morning, we'll fall back into the middle 50s with cooler and drier air filtering in.

The weekend looks great with highs in the middle 70s with lot of sun and drier air.

Early next week, we'll see humidity rise again and temperatures will rise back in the low 80s for highs ahead of the next front that will arrive by Tuesday afternoon.

This will result in more clouds Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Wednesday will be a chilly day with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s with things warming back up slightly on Thursday. For now, Turkey Day looks to start off cool in the upper 50s and mild in the afternoon with highs in the upper 70s under a good amount of clouds.
