CORPUS CHRISTI — It looks like we are going to remain in a rather wet weather pattern for the start to the workweek. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly cloudy skies with more showers likely. Expect an overnight low around 73 degrees. The forecast for Monday calls for showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall possible. A few areas could pick up another 1 to 2 inches of rain. Expect a daytime high of 84 degrees tomorrow with the winds blowing from the northeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. A little drier air will be filtering in midweek. However, there will still be enough moisture in place for a few isolated storms each day. Daytime highs will be in the upper 80's to lower 90's.
Monday is also the official start to Hurricane Season. We will be watching a disturbance that will likely move into the Gulf near the Bay of Campeche. There is a possibilty for some tropical development with this system. We will be keeping an eye on it this week. One possiible impact is that it could boost our rain chances next weekend.
