CORPUS CHRISTI — It was another very hot start to our weekend here in the Coastal Bend. A Heat Advisory has been issued until 8 pm. We had a heat index value around 110 degrees this afternoon in Corpus Christi. People need to use extreme caution when spending extended periods of time outdoors. Heat Indices were around 117 degrees in some of our inland locations. The forecast for tonight calls for mostly clear skies and mild weather conditions. Look for an overnight low around 77 degrees. It will be mostly sunny, hot and humid again on Sunday. Expect a daytime high around 97 degrees. The winds will be blowing out of the south at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Another Heat Advisory will likely be issued for Sunday.
High pressure will continue to dominate our weather through much of the week ahead. That means the hot and dry weather will stick around. The daytime high temperatures will be in the low to mid 90's. The overnight low temperatures will be in the upper 70's. No rain is expected during the forecast period.
