CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was another extremely hot day here in the Coastal Bend.

A heat advisory has been issued through 7 p.m. That means our heat-index values likely will rise above 110 degrees. People need to stay hydrated, and use extreme caution when spending a lot of time outdoors.

More heat advisories are likely through the weekend.

The forecast for tonight calls for mostly-cloudy skies, and mild weather conditions. Look for an overnight low around 80 degrees.

The forecast for Friday calls for a mixture of sunshine and clouds, with a daytime high of 94 degrees. It will also be rather breezy, with the winds blowing out of the southeast at 10-to-20 miles per hour.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather through next week. This means it will remain very hot and dry.

Daytime high temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 90's. The overnight low temperatures will be in the upper 70's, to around 80 degrees.

We do have a newly formed Tropical Storm Fay off the coast of North Carolina. This will bring the threat of heavy rain for much of the Northeast this weekend.
