CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The workweek will get off to a hot start with isolated rain showers through Wednesday but is likely to end with widespread rain Friday.
A tropical wave of low pressure is forecast to move into the Gulf this week and into South Texas Friday.
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring this wave which as of now has a 20 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or possible tropical storm in the next five days. Our chance of rain increases from Thursday night through Friday as this wave moves in.
For today, temperatures will reach 91 under mostly sunny skies and an isolated shower chance. The humidity will produce heat indices up to 102 this afternoon with east winds at 8-15 mph. Tuesday and Wednesday we'll have seasonal temperatures and an isolated rain chance.
Thursday and Friday we'll reach near 90 with higher humidity and heat indices up to 108 in Corpus Christi with an increasing chance of rain and possibly locally heavy rainfall.
