CORPUS CHRISTI — We are waking up to another chilly morning here in the Coastal Bend. Temperatures are in the upper 30's to lower 40's area wide. However, it should be a rather pleasant weekend. We will see increasing clouds and warmer temperatures the next couple of days. The forecast for this afternoon calls for partly sunny skies with a daytime high of 64 degrees. The winds will be shifting to the southeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight we can expect mostly cloudy skies with some patchy fog. Look for an overnight low around 57 degrees. It will be cloudy and warmer on Sunday with a daytime high of 72 degrees.
We are watching two cold fronts that will roll through South Texas next week. The first front will arrive on Monday. An isolated shower will be possible with the frontal passage. A much stronger cold front will arrive Tuesday evening. This will bring us windy and much cooler weather conditions for the latter half of the workweek. Daytime highs will only be in the upper 50's both Wednesday and Thursday. A gradual warm up is expected for next weekend.
