CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Happy Friday!

Stay weather aware tonight: storms are expected during the later evening to overnight hours.

If the morning is any sign of what this afternoon will bring, the humidity and warm temperatures will make today feel more like summer than fall. Friday brings breezy, partly sunny, and humid conditions to area. Expect temperatures in the middle to upper 80s and south-southeast winds 20-30 MPH. Humid conditions will make temperatures feel a few degrees warmer this afternoon.

A few stray showers have dotted the Coastal Bend this morning, but the focus of our rain forecast remains tonight's storms. Starting in our northwestern counties around 9 p.m., scattered storms will move east and exit into the Gulf of Mexico by 4 a.m. The main threats with any strong storms will be winds 60 MPH or stronger and hail one inch in diameter or larger.

Stay weather aware, have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, and stay with your KRIS 6 Weather Team for the latest updates!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
