CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — That drone video was also able to catch Hurricane Hanna’s storm surge slamming into the Bob Hall Pier earlier today.

That famous structure had some significance.

This a time lapse loop of the pier over the last 24 hours. We are told a sizable portion of the pier has collapsed.

Earlier we caught up with Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, who is vowing to rebuild.

“The video that I have been sent does show extensive damage, there's extensive damage to the ramp that happened this morning with the storm surge, again this afternoon,” Canales said. “The storm surge was furious and really just took a chunk out of the pier.”

Canales said although this storm is weaker than Hurricane Harvey, we have seen more damage to the Corpus Christi area than in 2017.

She is set to inspect damages tomorrow when the storm subsides.
