Easterly flow to keep humidity around

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — While persistent easterly flow has gradually increased humidity over the Coastal Bend, upper air high pressure is not allowing any rain to fall over the region.

A weak cold front Tuesday may generate showers in the coastal waters, but only scattered clouds onshore. A stronger system may give us isolated weekend showers.

With the jet stream well north of South Texas, any significant cooling is not in the cards for the coming week.

Two disturbances push cold fronts into the area, but dynamics will be weak and any rain will be fleeting.
However, the system arriving Friday will keep enough energy around through the weekend to allow a few showers, and the best rain chance on Sunday.

Temperatures will not change much behind either front though, with highs remaining in the lower to middle 80s and lows in the middle to upper 60s.
