CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It looks like we are going to be settling into a hot and dry weather pattern for the next several days.

The forecast for this afternoon calls for mostly sunny skies with a daytime high of 90 degrees.

The winds will be out of the east at 10 to 15 mph. A stray shower is possible.

Tonight, we can expect partly cloudy skies with an overnight low of 74 degrees. The forecast for both Saturday and Sunday calls for abundant sunshine. Look for an afternoon high of 93 degrees on Saturday and 95 on Sunday.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 90's early next week. Heat indices will likely range from 105 to 115 degrees. Use extreme caution when spending extended periods of time outdoors.

Cristobal will likely strengthen back into a tropical storm as it moves into the Gulf this week. It should move ashore in Lousiana late Sunday into early Monday morning.

The main impacts for us here in South Texas will be higher surf and coastal flooding. There will also be a higher risk of rip currents.
