CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The beautiful fall weather will continue to start the week as another passing weak cold front brings a light north breeze today, plenty of sunshine, and seasonal temperatures.
This dry weather pattern looks like it will continue through the week but an increase in tropical moisture by Thursday could lead to a few more clouds and stray showers, most staying over the Gulf.
We are watching Tropical Storm Gamma which is just north of the Yucatan Peninsula and is forecast to track southwest through the Bay of Campeche the next few days.
Also, Tropical Depression 26 is near Jamaica and is forecast to strengthen and track to the northwest, entering the southern Gulf by early Wednesday. We will watch both of these systems closely but at this time, neither one is forecast to impact south Texas directly.
However, we will see an increase in long period swells and higher rip current risk as we go through the week.
Today will be sunny and warm with a high of 88 and light north to east winds. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to upper 60s.
Tuesday looks mostly sunny and seasonably warm with a high of 88 with light north to east winds up to 12 mph.
