Although Tropical Storm Marco and Tropical Storm Laura are predicted to hit Louisiana, areas of Texas are bracing for the possibility of impact.

This weekend, families and volunteers are getting ready to take action and respond to the storms' effects.

In Galveston, one official says having an evacuation plan is crucial especially since social distancing means reduced capacity on the number of people the county can evacuate on a bus at one time.

Crowdsource Rescue volunteers throughout southeast Texas spent the day prepping their boats, filling tanks and packing bins with supply staples.

"We have the training. We have plenty of PPE,” said Matthew Marchetti of Crowdsource Rescue. “As far as CSR goes, we have plenty of communications with the emergency management officials and first responders in the various areas."

Experts say the massive wind and rains of a powerful hurricane can destroy a home so beyond boarding up windows, residents should cut low hanging branches, seal any problem areas on the roof and clear gutters of debris.
