CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — You'll get plenty of use out of those sunglasses and sunscreen the rest of the week as the dry, sunny weather continues with fairly light winds.

High pressure aloft will dominate, keeping the atmosphere dry in South Texas.

For the weekend, moisture increases slightly and isolated showers are possible. Medium range forecast models show an upper-level wave moving in from the Gulf a week from now, giving us a better chance of rain during the second week of August.

Tuesday will be another scorcher with a high of 97 in Corpus Christi and calm winds early, increasing to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Heat indices will reach near 105 during peak heating. Inland areas will see high temperatures near 100 today while it will stay near 90 at the beaches.

Tonight, we'll see areas of fog inland with lows in the low to mid-70s inland to near 80 at the coast.
