CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — After reaching the warmest day so far this year yesterday, with an official high of 86 at Corpus Christi International, a cold front has moved into the area and is bringing in slightly drier and cooler air.

Today will be mainly cloudy, with some intermittent drizzle and a high only forecast to reach the lower 60s.

Winds will start off breezy out of the northeast around 10-20 MPH, but those will subside later this afternoon and evening. Small Craft Caution is being advised by the National Weather Service.

Tonight, clouds will slowly begin to move out and it will be cool with a low of 51. In addition, there will also be some patchy dense fog.

The weekend is looking great with mainly sunny skies expected both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 70s. Super Bowl cookouts on Sunday afternoon looks to be fantastic. It'll be chilly Sunday morning though with lows in the mid-40s.

Early next week we'll start to warm back up and clouds move back in on Monday. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 70s to low 80s once again.

By Wednesday and Thursday of next week, we will be keeping an eye on some arctic air that will be spilling out from Canada. Weather forecast models have been going back and forth on when this will arrive here in South Texas.

Some are hinting early Wednesday, others late Thursday. We'll split the difference for now and shoot for early Thursday. When that arrives, it'll be cloudy and chilly with some light rain and drizzle with highs only in the upper 40s to mid-50s.

So, we're still not done with some of the cooler weather!

Have a great weekend!
