CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend remained very warm and humid today with a few more showers and even one or two thunderstorms that fired up briefly earlier in the day.
No major changes, for Friday highs will once again top out near 90 degrees with only spot showers expected. The big weather story is a couple of cold fronts that will have some of us reaching for a light sweater and an umbrella by early next week.
The first front will be weak and will blow through late Friday, knocking down the temps a few degrees for Saturday and early Sunday. Highs on Saturday will be around 80 and overnight lows will be in the upper 60's.
The second cold front will be the first arctic front of the season for much of the country, even bringing a wintry mix as far down as North Central Texas.
For the Coastal Bend, our temperatures will drop into the 50s for lows and highs will be in the 60s.
We are also expecting some much-needed showers and light rain to fall across the area through the early part of the next week.
Tonight: Partly Cloudy with spot showers. Lows in the low 70's
Friday: partly cloudy. Spot showers. High: upper 80's
Saturday - Sunday: First Cold front turning Breezy and not as warm. Highs: Upper 70's - low 80's.
