CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — We are getting a brief break from the heat as we end the workweek, thanks to the cold front that came through Thursday.

Northerly winds will keep our temperatures in the 80s Friday afternoon. The heat returns for the weekend as we jump back into the lower 90s with spotty showers or t-storms possible Sunday ahead of the next weak cold front. Monday won't be as hot with scattered showers and t-storms as the frontal boundary stalls out over south Texas.

Friday looks partly cloudy and warm with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 and north winds up to 15 mph in the morning, becoming lighter in the afternoon. There is an isolated rain chance.

An isolated coastal shower is possible Friday night with lows in the low to mid-70s.

We'll have a bright, hot day Saturday with highs in the low 90s and north winds shifting to the southeast up to 12 mph.

Sunday still looks hot but we'll see a slight chance of t-showers with highs in the lower 90s
