CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Hurricane Delta continues to head north toward Louisiana and is forecast to make landfall this evening.

The main effects we will see from the storm today are higher swells and coastal flooding with conditions improving tonight into Saturday. Rain bands from the hurricane will stay over the Gulf and we'll stay dry with hot, summer-like weather this weekend.

The next cold front will move through late Monday night, bringing temperatures down a few degrees early next week.

Today looks partly cloudy and hot with a high of 92 and north winds at 12-20 mph.

Saturday looks hot with abundant sunshine and a high of 95 and light winds from the southeast by afternoon.

Sunday will be hot and a bit more humid with a high of 95 and south winds at 10-20 mph. Afternoon heat indices will climb to 100-104.

The hot weather continues Monday with a high of 93 and southerly winds at 10-20 mph
