CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A tropical wave is likely to arrive along the Texas coastline on Friday and the National Hurricane Center will be monitoring this disturbance the next several days.
It has a 20 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or possible tropical storm. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible regardless of whether the storm strengthens or not. This storm bears monitoring because we are in Hurricane season.
It was another hot afternoon here in the Coastal Bend this afternoon as we saw a mixture of sunshine and clouds with temperatures in the mid-90s.
A few isolated showers popped up in parts of the area, although most of the region remained dry.
This trend will continue through at least midweek. Our forecast for tonight calls for partly cloudy skies and mild weather conditions with an overnight low around 76 degrees.
It will be mostly sunny tomorrow with a high of 93 degrees with a chance of an isolate shower possible. Winds will be light out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.
We will continue with hit and miss showers through Thursday with increasing moisture late in the week.
