CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Hanna is forecast to become a category 1 hurricane before making landfall this afternoon.
It is projected to have 80 mph sustained winds and gusts to near 100 mph as it moves onshore just south of Baffin Bay close to 1 PM if it maintains it's current speed and track.
In the Coastal Bend we'll have increasing showers and t-storms through the morning with heavy rain in some of the storms and the possibility of an isolated tornado.
Winds will increase through early afternoon coming in from the northeast at 30-50 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph in our southern counties.
Flash flooding will be possible due to heavy rainfall and we'll also see beach flooding as water levels come up 3-5 feet above ground level with the storm surge.
Conditions will slowly improve tonight into Sunday but showers and t-storms will be ongoing through early next week as the tropical moisture lingers.
