After tonight, drying out and heating up

and last updated

Heavy showers and thunderstorms in the northwest part of the Coastal Bend formed late this afternoon and have now turned around and are moving east. Activity will weaken within an hour after sunset and dissipate before it reaches most coastal areas. Upper level high pressure will move near then over the area beginning tomorrow lasting through early next week. This will dry out the area and heat us up.

Tonight expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to slowly decrease throughout the area with most of this not reaching Corpus Christi and a warm steamy low near 80.

Thursday the 4th. expect more sun and wind very humid and hotter with a high of 94 and a heat index of 108.

Thursday night fair skies warm and breezy for the fireworks and a low near 80 again.

Friday will be mostly sunny hazy humid and stifling hot with a high of 95.Little to no rainfall is expected for the holiday weekend after tonight.
