CORPUS CHRISTI — It is now officially Summer and it did feel like it here in the Coastal Bend. We saw heat index values ranging from 100 to around 108 degrees this afternoon. A few stray showers also popped up. We will see similar weather for your Father's Day. The forecast for tonight calls for partly cloudy skies with an isolated shower possible. Look for an overnight low around 76 degrees. The forecast for Sunday still calls for plenty of sunshine with a daytime high around 90 degrees. The winds will pick up in the afternoon from the southeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Isolated storms will be possible both Sunday and Monday.
The potential for rain increases for much of South Texas the remainder of the workweek. Scattered showers are expected to develop each day. Some areas could pick up between one and four inches of rainfall. Daytime highs will be in the upper 80's to lower 90's. The overnight low temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 70's.
