CORPUS CHRISTI — We finally got some much needed rain across parts of the South Texas. Some areas picked up between 2 and 3 inches. The heaviest rainfall was near the coastal areas. The powerful storm system also brought us some cooler temperatures and rather windy conditions this afternoon. Our daytime high was only in the mid 50s with our peak wind gust around 40 miles per hour. It's also going to be a cold New Year's Eve. Temperatures tonight will drop into the upper 30s under mostly clear skies.It will be mostly sunny and a bit warmer on New Year's Day. Look for an afternoon high of 63 degrees on Friday. It will remain sunny and cool for the weekend. Daytime highs will be in the 60s with overnight low temperatures around 40 degrees.
