Hopefully everyone had a great Easter weekend! The weather cooperated for the most part, as long as you didn’t mind all the wind!
We are keeping an eye on an upper-level disturbance moving through the Rockies this afternoon and that will keep clouds, humidity, and the wind in play here in South Texas through the middle of the week.
In addition, the surface cold front, which is very weak in nature and more of just a boundary that will ignite some showers and storms as it moves south, will arrive here late Wednesday and early Thursday morning and give us a shot of some rainfall. A few storms could potentially go severe and we’ll have to monitor that as they come through.
Tonight it will be mainly cloudy, mild, breezy and humid. Low: 70 Winds: SE 10-15MPH
Tuesday we’ll see plenty of clouds, not much in the way of sunshine, and highs in the lower 80s. We could also see some spotty drizzle given the amount of moisture and clouds in place. Winds: SE 15-30 MPH
Wednesday will be very similar with some spotty shower activity, warm, windy and muggy weather conditions. High: 82 Wind: SE 15-25 MPH
Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning around 1AM-7AM, we’ll see the weak front slide into the Coastal Bend with a round of thunderstorms. We’ll keep an eye on if they go severe. There is a potential that some locations could pick up over an inch of rain with the heavier storms. Otherwise, the average will be around half an inch to three quarters.
After the front moves by, drier air will filter in and we’ll begin to clear out by Thursday afternoon. Friday and Saturday look very nice with lighter winds and lots of sun with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A few more clouds come in on Sunday as winds increase off the Gulf again.
