Those who are looking for an evening of family entertainment should not look past the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. That is particularly true when it comes to the final event on their calendar for the 2018-19 Season, the 8th Annual Pops in the Park.

Once again, Whataburger Field will play host to this outdoor concert, happening this year on May 18. The Grammy-Award winning group Asleep at the Wheel will join in the fun as the featured guest!

The full orchestra of the Corpus Christi Symphony, conducted by CCSO Music Director Hector Guzman, will perform all-time favorites that include music from ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and ‘Silverado,’ as well as join with Asleep at the Wheel for some of their big hits. Guests will also enjoy a light show on the Harbor Bridge, and what promises to be the biggest and most magnificent fireworks finale in the history of Pops in the Park.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and pre-concert events include ballpark concessions, a Kid’s Zone with an Instrument Petting Zoo, performances by student musical groups and civic organizations, and a salute to the military.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to wear their casual ballpark attire.

Tickets are on sale for both General Admission and Reserved Seating and may be purchased through the Hooks Box Office by calling (361) 561-Hook (4665) or visiting www.cchooks.com.
