SAN ANTONIO, Tx. — Veterans Memorial fell in the state semifinal against Cedar Park 61-28.

The Eagles started the game off hot when quarterback Carter Senterfitt led the offense 80 yards down the field. The drive was capped off with a touchdown pass to Nana Amo-Mensah.

Veterans Memorial forced a three and out on the ensuing Cedar Park drive but after a holding call in the endzone, Cedar Park was awarded a safety and cut into the Veterans Memorial lead.

After a missed Eagles field goal, Cedar Park took their first lead of the game when quarterback Ryder Hernandez found a receiver for 42 yards to take a 10-7 lead before the half.

The first half was a back and forth affair but it was the Eagles that found themselves leading at the half 21-17 after a jet sweep touchdown run by Amo-Mensah.

The second half was a completely different story and would prove to be the difference in this game.

Cedar Park shutout the Eagles in the frame and put up 28 points to take a commanding 45-21 lead into the final quarter of the game.

Veterans Memorial will finish this odd 2020-2021 campaign crossing off a lot of milestones in just their 5th year as a program.
