Islanders comeback bid falls short at home

CORPUS CHRISTI — The The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team fell to Southeastern Louisiana, 84-80, on Saturday afternoon in Southland Conference action. The Islanders trailed by as many as 26 points to cut the lead to 3 with under a minute to go.

Irshaad Hunte lead the Islanders in scoring with a career-high 18 points in the game; 15 of those points were scored in the first half.

Freshman Jordan Hairston was the second leading scorer for the Islanders with 13 points.

The Islanders now fall to 5-10 overall for the 2019-2020 season and just 1-3 in Southland Conference play.

Their next game will be at Stephen F. Austin this Wednesday, Jan. 8.
