CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There were two big high school football games on Thursday across our area.

First, Ray hooked up with Victoria West at Buc Stadium.

Ray was looking for its second win of the season while the Warriors came in unbeaten and tied for first place in District 15-5A Division I with Flour Bluff and Veterans Memorial.

West reeled off 34 straight points and never looked back in cruising to an easy 62-3 triumph, enabling them to remain tied for first place in district play.

Ray falls to 1-3 in the district.

And at Cabaniss Field, Moody met Flour Bluff as the Hornets were looking to maintain at least a share of first place in the district.

Flour Bluff came out and scored early and often, using a combination of strong passing and a bruising running game to claim a 54-7 victory over the Trojans.

The Hornets improve to 5-0 in district and 6-0 overall.

Moody drops to 2-3 in district and 3-3 for the season.

Be sure and join us for Friday Night Fever. Alan Harwell will have live reports from Port Lavaca where the Sandcrabs host Calallen for the district championship.

And Jeff Dubrof will be at Tuloso-Midway where the Warriors host Alice. The winner of that game also will make the playoffs.

It should be a great Friday night across the Coastal Bend.

Be sure to join us for Friday Night Fever during the 10 p.m. newscast.
