CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Veterans Memorial takes on Flour Bluff in the class 5A region IV final Saturady afternoon at Buc Stadium and and it is the hottest ticket in town.
It is a game a lot of fans want to watch but finding a ticket has become a big challenge.
During normal conditions, Buc Stadium can seat over 10,000 fans but due to COVID-19 social distancing rules, limited capacity has been reduced to just 25 percent. Only 2,600 fans will be allowed inside the stadium.
Veterans Memorial has already sold it's allotted number of tickets and Flour Bluff is expected to sell out by Wednesday night.
For those fortunate enough to get a ticket, social distancing will be heavily enforced for the big game. "We have tried to make it real easy for everyone," said CCISD Director of Athletics Brenda Marshall. "Fans cannot sit on the blue tape. We have pre-sectioned off and where you don't see blue tape, that's where a group or pod of four can sit"
Unlike the regular season, both the Vets Memorial and Flour Bluff bands, drill teams and cheerleaders will be in attendance and will be assigned to the track area.
Despite the limited capacity, it will be a festive atmosphere. Kickoff is set for 2pm Saturday at Buc Stadium. KRIS 6 Sports will have complete game coverage.
