PORTLAND, Tx. — In a release sent out by the school district this morning, Brent Davis has been named the new head coach and athletic director for Gregory-Portland High School.
Davis will be replacing Rick Rhoades who stepped down at the end of last year.
Davis comes from San Angelo Central High School, although he is familiar with the Coastal Bend, spending some time in Alice, Banquete and Sinton. He led the Pirates to the state title game in 2001.
Per the release, there will be an introductory press conference for Davis at 6 p.m. tonight.
