Highlights from the Calallen Softball UIL 5A Softball State Final

 

The Calallen Softball team ends their best season in program history in a heart-breaking loss to the Angleton Ladycats in the UIL 5A Softball State Final.

The first inning was quiet for Calallen, Angleton managed to shut down the Wildcats in the top of the first.

 

The bottom of the first escalated quickly with Angleton scoring 6 runs on 5 hits.

 

The entire second inning was quiet on both sides. The Wildcats and Ladycats sit each other down with no runs scored.

 

The Wildcats bring in a run on a ground out to score their first run of the game in the top of the third. Angleton goes scoreless for the bottom of the third.

 

The fourth and fifth inning were spectacular defensive displays. Calallen and Angleton managing to keep each other away from home base until the bottom of the sixth. Angleton brings in two more runs right before the final inning.

 

The Calallen Wildcats were unable to close the gap in the final outs of the game. These students put in a great deal of effort to get where they did, and we are proud of them finishing their most winningest season in program history. The final score is Calallen 1, Angleton 8 in the UIL 5A Softball State Final. Congrats to these awesome athletes!
