FLOUR BLUFF, Texas — For the past two decades, Flour Bluff football has been a model of consistency. 18 trips to the playoffs during the past 20 years.

Here they are again preparing for their big class 5A opening-round playoff game against Brownsville Pace Friday night at Hornet Stadium.

We asked some of the players and head coach Chris Steinbruck what they hoped other teams would say about them.

"I hope they would think we were a very physical team," said star running back Isaac Miles. "we pride ourselves on being physical every play of every game"

"I think they would think we are a good team and well-coached," said Hornets defensive back Rayden Campbell. "we play well together and the past couple of years we have gone deep in the playoffs"

"Everybody who plays us is going to know we give great effort," said Hornets head coach Chris Steinbruck. "we have very talented players and there is no doubt that we have guys who can make big plays and give tremendous effort. I think we have a great football team"

The Hornets went 8-1 during the regular season and won a huge game last week over Victoria West to secure an opening-round home game. Coach Steinbruck believes his team is playing their best football of the season after being battle-tested late in the year.

"We played two really good teams in Vets Memorial and Victoria West," said Steinbruck. "playing good opponents during the final weeks of the regular season has prepared us for the start of the playoffs and we are ready to go"

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Hornet Stadium in Flour Bluff Friday.
