CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. — Flour Bluff defeated Brownsville Pace Friday night 56-27 to advance to the area round of the 2020 football playoffs.
The Hornets led for the entire game and were kicked started by a touchdown run by Isaac Miles in the first quarter.
After the Hornets defense blocked a Pace punt, quarterback Nash Villegas found receiver Aidan Featherby for a ten yard touchdown and increased the Hornet lead to 14-0.
Pace would respond on the following drive. Quarterback Jose Banda hit his receiver Mark Garcia on 3rd down to pick up the first.
Later in the drive, Banda completed a pass to Alexander Agado who does the rest scoring the touchdown. Bluff's lead trimmed to eight.
The Flour Bluff offense was relentless in this game.
The very next drive, Villegas took a run 50 yards to the house.
Flour Bluff would lead 28-6 at halftime.
