CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The IceRays have parted ways with head coach Al Rooney, effective immediately.
Nate Woesnner will fill in on an interim basis starting with Friday’s game against Shreveport.
The IceRays have struggled during the last month, notching a 2-7-1 record in their last 10 games.
"We woiuld like to thank Al Rooney for his contributions to the IceRays over the past two seasons," IceRays president Cassidy Lange said in a release. "We wish Al and his family the best in future endeavors."
Heading into Friday’s game, they have a 13-17-3-3 record with 32 points in the North American Hockey League. They are 14 points behind the fourth-place Shreveport team.
