CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A vigorous upper level disturbance moving southeast through Central Texas is firing strong thunderstorms in the Hill Country late today.
Those storms will eventually work their way into South Texas overnight, leading to a wet evening.
Showers storms will persist much of Friday and then diminish through the weekend.
While the chance for severe storms will exist only overnight, there will remain sufficient moisture to enable isolated showers and storms through the weekend and into the middle of next week.
Deep layered tropical moisture will push northward from the Caribbean into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico next week, but at this time no tropical development is anticipated.
Highs will be in the upper 80s to around 90, with lows in the middle 70s.
