Scot Thomas was born in Austin, Texas, and Raised in Corpus Christi.
After graduating from Mary Carroll High School, he joined the US Navy.
After one tour of duty, he attended classes at both UCLA and UNLV.
He began working for KRIS-TV in 1999 as a Master Control Operator, before moving to the News Department in 2000.
Since then, he has traveled across the country working as a news producer, before returning home to KRIS-TV in October of 2020.
