CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The nation has been left reeling from the coronavirus pandemic.

The current financial crisis has left many people unemployed for the first time.

Federal, state and local help is available, but not easy to access. Many people are frustrated and feel helpless at a time of extreme vulnerability.

KRIS, KZTV and KAJA, working together with other Scripps stations across the nation, are hoping that The Rebound will help people make it to the other side.

We aim to help help people through the financial impact of the coronavirus by offering one place to go for information on everything available to help and how to access.

Our local focus on areas such as:

  • Making Ends Meet
  • Mental Health Pressures brought on by the crisis
  • Local Jobs and Who Is Hiring
  • Charities & Other Non-Profits helping our community cope
  • Ways to engage our community to help.

The Rebound Coastal Bend will live across all of our newscasts on KRIS, KZTV and KAJA and will be supported by an extensive digital platform push on our web, mobile and OTT platforms.

Additionally, our nationally produced program "The Race" will pivot to support this effort and will now be entitled “The Road to Recovery” and will have multiple weekend airings across our stations.

Lastly, it is our hope to help launch a local hotline number soon where people can be connected to the correct agencies that can help them with their specific needs.

We're there to help those who need assistance get through these extraordinary times.
