CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — H-E-B will begin expanding its business hours, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 10 p.m. on Monday

In March, the region's biggest grocery chain condensed its hours to 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in order to have enough time to properly restock and santitize stores.

"With an improving supply chain and stronger product availability, our stores have the capacity to serve more customers throughout the day while providing the products they want," H-E-B said in a statement Tuesday night.

The chain also announced it would continue to ease product restrictions on many items, and the bakeries, delis and floral departments will reopen.

The statement said, however, that its dedication to customer and employee safety will not be loosened.

"Even with our extended hours, our stores remain diligent in following H-E-B’s strict hygiene and sanitation measures as well as proper social distancing protocols," it reads. "All Partners in customer-facing roles are required to wear masks. This includes Partners in all parts of our business that are in close contact as well as vendors."
